I have been thinking about changing the stream time frame for while now but havent been able to figure out a good time. i have been generally trying to find a time frame that will work for my friends and myself on Saturdays. However, the best time frame is saturday mornings but we will all be attending another streamer's stream during that time, so that is out of the question. I kept thinking over other time frames on saturdays and what will work best for all of us but i still couldnt figure one out that wont require myself or someone in EST and CET timezones to have to wake up super early or stay up super late. but i think i finally figured out a good timeslot

I am thinking Sundays at 6:30am PST/ 9:30am EST/ 3:30pm CET will be my streaming time frame.

I dont mind waking up that early. I will need to get myself used to waking up that early again soon anyways for when school starts again. I also think that it will be better for me cause then instead of me usually slowly falling asleep as the stream progresses, I will be slowly waking up. Though everyone will have to deal with extra stupid me for an hour or two.

Hello everyone! These are the official rules and roles for Midroemda Auditions! Midomeda Auditions will start on June 5th - 16th, 2017. If you want to audition for a role to be part of the crew, please get in contact with me about which date at which time you will like to schedule your audition in the provided timeframe. Timezones is a large thing, so when you think about when you want to have your audition, be sure to also consider my timezone as well (PST) as well as any other person that will be joining me for judging the auditions. (typically the leader of the role you want if there is a leader. Allowing them to have a say if they want you in their team or not. Not all roles have a leader right now however.) You may also audition for more than one role, but you will be expected to still submit everything that is required for each role, put more on your plate.

All pieces are to be given to me on your audition date via my email, which will be provided below. I will require that each person auditioning to have a Discord, Google Hangouts, or a Picarto Account. As these will be the mediums I will use to communicate critique to you, or even show you my critique in real time (if using Google Hangouts or Picarto) If you choose Picarto, I will make it a private stream and give you the link so then you can watch me apply critique. Google Hangouts will be handled with screen share so you can see my screen and watch me apply critique. Discord will be handled with screenshots. Please keep in mind that the main discussions for Midromeda are held in Discord.

Current members of the crew can audition for more roles as well if they so choose, but will be treated like everyone else and are open to only the offered roles. From the submission process, scheduling, and critique.

Process of the Audition:

Meet and Greet
We meet at the scheduled time and you introduce yourself, even if I already know you. If your role has a leader, they will also introduce themselves as well.

Presentation
You present your pieces to me, as if I am a client or consumer. Talk about your pieces as you present them, such as the origins of the creature, the religion behind a temple in an environment, etc. During this time period I will remain silent and take notes. If you are submitting a story, when you finish talking about it, allow some time for me and the possible leader to read the story. During this entire time, the leader of your role, if there is one and they are present, will remain silent.

Critique

I give the critique and how I feel about each piece presented. What worked, what didn’t work. Things I noticed about it, etc.

Closing statement
I will ask you if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I will answer them to the best of my ability, but please be aware that there will be some information that I will not share.

Leader discussion
Only applicable if your role has a leader in it. I will talk to them privately for a bit and will talk to them about their view and stance on your audition, and to see if they want you in their team.

Final Statement
I will tell you if you were able to get the role or not.

AVAILABLE ROLES AND DESCRIPTIONS:

please note. Due to Midromeda changing from an animation project to a webcomic project. We will not be looking for Audio/Music roles. I deeply apologize for the troubles.

-Environment: in charge of creating the different environments for Midromeda. From grassy plains and ruins, deserts, and even environments that are just out there, like a kingdom made of paper or candy. I will require images of environments that you have created. With the environment, I want to see that you understand color and lighting and how it affects the mood of the environment as well, such as high key, low key, and mid key. Also environments tell as story. When I see an environment, I want to be able to understand the story of it as soon as I see it.

     Please submit the following:

  • 2 environment pieces in grayscale, showing how you understand atmospheric perspective

  • 2 environment pieces in color, showing that you understand color and how it affects the piece.

-Extras/Creature Design:
in charge of creating and designing extras, such as more creatures and filler beings. Extras can be more than just extra people in the background, they can tell the story of certain societies or cults. I want to see that in your design, that the backstory is shown in the character or creature. With designing always question why it is like that. Why does this creature have feathers or scales? Why does this being have an extra limb? Why doesn’t this creature have this body part? Etc.

   Please submit the following:

  • 2 wild creature character sheet, colored and species named

  • 1 sentient creature/alien character sheet, colored and race named

  • 1 board of creature silhouettes. Can be wild creatures or sentient creatures/aliens. Let the silhouette speak for the body language of the being (at least 3 silhouettes)

-Storyboard:
in charge of creating the storyboards of the pilot and each episode. With storyboarding, you have to have a grasp of environment and character and how to display what is happening in drawing. And you have to be able to draw them quickly. I will require to see a storyboard that was created by you. I want to see what the people in the boards are saying below the panel (like subtitles) and understand what is happening when I go through it. With drawing storyboards, something as simple as the change of the “camera” angle can change the feel that the viewer gets.

   Please submit the following:

  • 2 short 20-panel minimum storyboard telling a story of your own. Can be Midromeda related or your own story.

  • 2 panels from the original 20-panel board shows how you experimented with different camera angles (at least 5 different camera angles)

-Prop and Vehicle design:
in charge of creating props and/or vehicles that will be in the environments. Props help make an environment feel alive, or at least show that beings inhabited a certain area. Weapons are also props and are vitally important to Midromeda as each character in the main crew, at least, wields a weapon. Vehicles are important as it will show how certain races or species get from one place to another, space ships, land vehicles, boats, etc.

   Please submit the following:

  • 1 weapon prop sheet. Showing the different angles of the different angle of the weapon, the scale of the weapon to the wielder, and how the weapon is to be used or how the mechanic of the weapon operate

  • 2 prop sheet showing simple objects like chairs, desks, plants, etc in isometric perspective. At least 4 different objects on each page. Be sure that the objects also follow a certain theme or time period

-Story and Script:
in charge of helping to create the backbone of Midromeda. Creation of the story from main storyline to the minor things like creating the lore of certain races and/or species in Midromeda. once the story has been completed, theyw ill be in charge of creating the scripts that the voice actors will read off of. Must know how to explain everything in words in a way where it is "showing" and not "telling" and must be able to bring ideas into the story that will help Midreomda become well-rounded and interesting rather than flat and boring. Only 3 slots available for this role.

     Please submit the following:

  • 2 short stories. Can be any genre like romance, adventure, sci-fi, etc. However keep it where it presents everything a story needs. beginning, buildup, climax, and resolution/conclusion.

  • 1 script. Choose one of your stories or make a new story. then create the script for the story. Be sure to make it where you still know what is happening in the story, even with it being mainly dialogue

All pieces must be saved as a PNG file or JPEG file (DOCX or PDF for Story and Script).
If you are able to submit a PSD file, that will be a huge plus, but not required. Submissions must be labelled accordingly or it will not be accepted:

   Examples: Aizelle_MidroAudition_Environment_1_Castle.png

                  Tim_MidroAudition_Storyboard_3_LostPurrito.jpeg

Note: for the name slot, you don’t have to put your real name, you can use your online screen name as I know that some are not comfortable sharing their real name.

Please be aware that unlike the contest that I held, I will not be giving advice to help you. If you ask me for my opinion on a WIP for your audition, I will not say anything. This is to show that you will be able to be independent and understand what you are doing when it comes to creating your piece.

Another Note: if you can not handle critique, do not audition. I critique each submission really hard to where it will seem like I am “attacking” you. I am not attacking, I am offering constructive critique to help you. But if you audition, I give critique, and you refuse to listen to at least some of it, you will automatically not be offered to join the crew as this project is all about presenting ideas and not all ideas will be accepted.

Without audio or music, Midromeda will be missing one of the main pieces it will need to be able to stay afloat.

Hello! Summer is just a few months away and I think it is about time I went ahead and announced this. At the beginning of summer, late May early June, Midromeda will be hosting auditions for people to be able to join the crew and help with its production! Each role has a different way of handling audition submissions and the process is still being refined now. More information will be announced as time goes on and when everything is set up, a deadline will be made. Note: this is just an announcement that auditions will be held and around what time they will be held.

When you audition, as a heads up, if the role you are auditioning for has a lead, then they will be attending your audition as well and they will also have a say on whether you pass the audition or not, and if I agree with them or not. Also be prepared to receive alot of critique, and with this second time of auditions going around, I may critique harder than I did. But all critique I make is to help with improving your piece. Anyways, so then you can think about what kind of role you want to audition for, I included a small list of the roles that are open for auditions.

Roles open for auditions with basic summaries

-Environment - in charge of making the environments of Midromeda
-Extras/Creature Design - in charge of creating the extra characters and creatures
-Storyboard - in charge of creating the storyboard of the Pilot
-Prop Design - in charge of creating the props like weapons and vehicles to tables and chairs
-Music and Audio - in charge of creating the music or audio that will be in Midromeda

Story and Script have been cut out for auditions due to it having the most people it in, and I don’t see that it needs anymore. Animators and are not included as their roles are better suited for later on in production.
